Java Full-Stack Developer

About the employer:

  My client is a financial services firm that creates solutions for the financial sector. Their tradition dates back to 1818 and their reach is worldwide - they have offices all over the world from Chicago to Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the establishment of a secure data platform on BBH’s OnPrem Cloudera infrastructure,
• document and develop ETL logic and data flow to facilitate the easy usage of data assets, both batch and real-time streaming,
• leverage the following (but not limited to) components of Cloudera distribution to achieve project objectives: Sqoop, Hive, Impala, Spark,
• consistent practice in coding and unit testing,
• work with distributed teams.

Requirements:

• Technical experience in the design and development of various applications utilizing a wide range of technologies,
• strong knowledge of frameworks, design patterns,
• strong experience in core Java,
• preferred experience in Angular 17+, TypeScript,
• experience with Spring (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring JDBC),
• design automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions (Openshift, Kubernetes or  Azure) with a focus on application concerns, including cloud-ready distributed application architectures, migrating workloads to containers, containerized development workflows, and integrating container platforms with automated CI and CD pipelines,
• provide mentoring to the developer community in the best practices associated with CI/CD deployments using Jenkins, Maven, and GIT,
• assist in the design, build, management, and operation of the infrastructure as a service layer (hosted and cloud-based platforms) that supports the different platform services,
• write and build continuous delivery pipelines to manage and automate the lifecycle of the different platform components,
• strong experience in streaming Big Data using Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Ignite, or similar technologies.

Nice To Have:

• Experience with JMS and message queue brokers (WebSphere MQ, Active MQ),
• strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns,
• automated build platforms/continuous integration experience and knowledge (Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Gradle),
• ability to interpret and troubleshoot applications using logs (troubleshooting Java memory issues, analyzing Java heap/thread dumps, troubleshooting application issues),
• experience with Unix platforms,
• working experience with Data Virtualization tools such as Dremio/Denodo,
• knowledge of Machine Learning libraries and exposure to Data Mining,
• working experience with AWS/Azure/GCP,
• working experience in the Financial industry is a plus.
