Senior Java Developer

About the employer:

 My client is a financial services firm that creates solutions for the financial sector. Their tradition dates back to 1818 and their reach is worldwide - they have offices all over the world from Chicago to Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• developing application functionality - develop maintainable, well-documented application functionality with an eye toward standardization, reusability, simplicity, performance, robustness and other attributes of enterprise-strength solutions,
• participation in application design for example - creating proofs of concept or prototypes; participation in the technical design of the application; technology stack selection; systems integration patterns; participation in the design of the database / data model,
• contribute to requirements definition - Contribute technical expertise to define application requirements in collaboration with business analysts, business representatives and others,
• functionality testing and cooperation with business areas to support UAT - utilize detailed and thorough practices including negative testing, testing of boundary conditions,
• support for business areas - quickly resolve issues encountered by business lines in the production environment, maintaining a helpful,
• being part of scrum development team.

Requirements:

• Java 11+ must have solid experience in core Java and libraries (3+ years),
• strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns (Clean code, SOLID),
• Spring platform - must have experience with Spring (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security) and Spring Boot,
• experience with ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate) and databases (Oracle),
• high proficiency in development practices: unit testing, Continuous Integration, refactoring, clean code,
• experience with test frameworks: JUnit, Spock, Mockito,
• experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban),
• Web technical stack - experience developing web applications in Java ( REST services, websockets),
• experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular 2+, typescript, jQuery) - nice to have,
• tools: Tomcat, Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle  - nice to have,
• good command of English.
