Snowflake/Databricks Administrator

Responsibilities:

• configure Snowflake environments to maintain high performance and system reliability,
• administer user permissions and roles to ensure secure and appropriate access to data,
• continuously monitor system performance and proactively address any operational issues,
• improve query efficiency and storage usage through performance tuning and optimization techniques,
• apply and uphold security measures such as encryption and controlled data access policies,
• provide support to data engineering and analytics teams in utilizing Snowflake for enterprise-level solutions,
• automate administrative workflows using scripting and orchestration tools,
• maintain the scalability and resilience of the Snowflake infrastructure,
• work closely with teams across the organization to ensure Snowflake aligns with business objectives,
• keep informed about the latest Snowflake and Databricks updates, offering suggestions for enhancements and upgrades.

Requirements:

Snowflake Skills: 

• expertise in Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, databases, and schemas,
• strong understanding of Snowflake security features (RBAC, data masking, encryption),
• proficient in performance tuning and query optimization in Snowflake,
• experience with Snowflake Resource Monitors for cost and usage control,
• integration with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory for data ingestion and transformation,
• familiarity with Snowpipe for continuous data ingestion. 

Databricks Skills:

• hands-on experience with Databricks notebooks for data engineering and analytics,
• proficient in Apache Spark (PySpark/SQL) for large-scale data processing,
• knowledge of Delta Lake for ACID-compliant data lakes and time travel,
• experience with Databricks Jobs and Workflows for orchestration and automation.
